Greaux Events Highlights Corporate Travel

The executives at Greaux Events believe corporate travel enhances team members' career development and team building. The Director of Operations offered tips for frequent travelers.

“At Greaux Events, we view travel as an important part of the job,” said Chad, the Director of Operations. “When you are on the road, you learn new capabilities. Plus, you learn more about yourself when you work in an unfamiliar environment. Travel gives you opportunities to learn unique aspects of the business.”

The management team at Greaux Events plans a variety of trips throughout the year. “Our associates travel to conferences, industry events, and corporate retreats,” said Chad. “Each of these venues gives them the opportunity to learn new skills. They also get to network with their peers and experts in their field.”

“In addition to career development opportunities, corporate travel encourages people to work together,” added the Director. Time away from the workplace gives people the opportunity to reinforce their relationships while they gain better understanding of each other’s strengths and abilities. “When people are on the road, they find ways to collaborate without the support of the office,” added Chad. “Perhaps most importantly, they have a great time!”

Chad and the executive team also use travel as a reward for outstanding performance. “At Greaux Events, we believe in recognizing our top performers,” he said. “Each year, we offer trips to exotic locations to thank them for their contributions. The excitement around these events is palpable!”

Greaux Events’ Director Offers Travel Advice

Chad and members of the Greaux Events management team know travel can be a challenging experience. “Regardless of how you feel about travel, it’s beneficial to keep up with the latest trends in the industry,” he said. “Things can become unpredictable when you are trying to get from point A to point B, so it’s helpful to be prepared.”

“A successful business trip begins with a positive attitude,” added the Director. “When flights are delayed or cancelled, the airport personnel will do their best to assist you.” Chad advises team members to be patient, and to exhibit pleasant demeanors. “If you remain calm and tell the agent you appreciate his or her patience, chances are that person will go the extra mile for you. No one wants to work with a hostile customer.”

Chad also advises associates to pack some essential items. “When you are stuck on a packed flight, a set of noise-cancelling headphones will give you the peace and quiet you desire,” he said. “If you don’t feel like chatting with your seat-mate, a book and a set of earplugs will do. When you are sitting in a departure lounge with your peers, a deck of cards will help everyone pass the time.”
