Game Industry Veterans Launch New Board Game Company
Jason Kapalka and Glenn Drover launch Forbidden Games, Inc.
PLAINFIELD, Ill., March 7, 2018 (Newswire.com) - An exciting new board game company called Forbidden Games has been founded by two veteran game designers and entrepreneurs. The founders are:
Jason Kapalka, a co-founder and chief game designer at PopCap, makers of video games such as Bejeweled, Peggle, and Plants vs. Zombies, and Glenn Drover, the founder of Eagle Games and designer of numerous board games including the tabletop versions of Railroad Tycoon and Age of Empires III.
"The original goal of PopCap was simple", explained Kapalka. "To treat so-called 'casual' games not as disposable junk, but as gems to polish with all the care and craft of an AAA title."
The aim of Forbidden Games is similar, which is to make board games that can be both accessible as well as deep; to produce fast, fun gateway games that can be as elegantly designed as a multi-hour miniatures-fest. Ultimately, it is their intention to create truly great games that appeal to casual and hardcore players alike.
To that end, Forbidden will be working only with the absolute best artists and designers, while accepting nothing less than the highest quality components with a mission that states: "We believe a great board game is something you should treasure and play for years to come."
Forbidden Games, Inc. is an Illinois-based board game developer and publisher.
