Foreign Affairs Motorsport to Bring Smiles to Ailing Kids at the 2019 Kids Racing for Life Event

Foreign Affairs Motorsport, Sebring International Raceway, Sebring, Florida

Racecar drivers race to win prizes. The prizes can range from fame and fortune to setting new world records. But has anyone wagered to race for their lives? What about just the feeling of being alive?

That is the motivation behind the infamous Kids Racing for Life charity program.

Started in 1999 by Reverend Zoeller of the Zoeller Ministries in Fort Myers, Florida, this non-profit Christian group selflessly gifts terminally sick kids and their families with an unbelievable weekend of racing excitement at the Sebring International Raceway in Central Florida. The PBOC Porsche and BMW Owners Club have been working with Zoeller Ministries for the past two decades to turn this program into reality.

Terminally sick kids, often with untreatable cancers, and their families are flown to Sebring with hotel accommodations and meals provided free of charge for the weekend. For many of them, it is their only chance to be away from the hospital and enjoy a family vacation.

Then the kids are given the feeling of being alive again – they get strapped into the passenger seat of a racecar with a professional driver behind the wheel, and speed through the legendary Sebring International Raceway to erase all their feelings of sickness; at least for a few minutes.

Foreign Affairs Motorsport, in conjunction with HGreg Lux, will once again participate in this very meaningful event. Given that it is the 20-Year Anniversary of the Kids Racing for Life program this year, it makes their participation even more special.

Jared Varela, Service Manager at Foreign Affairs Motorsport, explains why this means so much to him and his crew, “We’ve known Reverend Zoeller for over two decades and participated in Kids Racing for Life just as long now. And seeing how this program has given so many terminally kids around the country so much hope and power to continue to live, we really want to continue to support their cause and make a difference in a child’s life. Having the opportunity to participate in this program is a huge honor for me and Foreign Affairs Motorsport.”

To make it more fun and unforgettable for everyone, HGreg and Foreign Affairs Motorsport will be bringing some exotic Porsches and race-prepped vehicles to Sebring this year. All the toys will come out and play with the kids – a Porsche 911 RWB, a custom-built Porsche 911 Outlaw, a couple of Radical Racecars and Porsche GT3/GT4s.  Their goal is to provide as many rides to the kids as they can.  And put as many smiles on their faces as possible.

This year’s Kids Racing for Life will take place at the legendary Sebring International Raceway on Sept. 28th and the 29thFor more information, please visit www.kidsracingforlife.com

There is still time if you want to sign up for the event as a driver or make a donation. To sign up as a driver, visit PBOC’s website at pbocflorida.com/event/pboc-sponsors-krfl-charity-event-at-sebring

For donations, please contact Reverend Steven Zoeller (RaceRev@RaceRev.com). The program is in need of donors for expenses related to lodging, transporting and feeding the kids and their families for the event. A $500 donation can sponsor a family of four for the event. This includes hotel for two nights, t-shirts, and meals. The event this year is expecting 50 to 100 families.

This may be the most important race in a sick child’s life. They are already all winners to make it this far. So let’s cheer them on toward the finish line!
