Follett Launches Private Label College Apparel Brand

Fall Rush Product Line to be Offered in Over 500 Official Campus Stores

Follett Corporation, operator of more than 1,200 on-campus stores and one of the nation’s largest retailers of college licensed apparel, has introduced Fall Rush, the company’s newly created private label brand.  Fall Rush officially licensed college apparel is debuting in 500 stores managed by Follett this summer.

Led by Fanatics Apparel veteran Scott Killian and a newly assembled Los Angeles based product creation team, the Fall Rush brand has been in development for nearly a year. “Follett has been operating official campus stores for nearly 90 years,” said Killian, senior vice president of Private Label. “This incredible heritage and the connection we have with generations of students and alumni is the perfect foundation for building a college lifestyle brand focused on authenticity and elevating the definition of campus apparel.”

Fall Rush product will feature super soft combed and brushed cotton fabrics and an innovative sizing strategy culled from fit research the company conducted with consumers. The result is more gender neutral sizing that will support a more inclusive range of body types.

The inspiration for Fall Rush comes from Follett’s response to partner institutions looking for a more unique and expanded range of emblematic apparel offerings that connect to the entire campus community.  To meet the demand, Follett developed an innovative approach to supply chain with an emphasis on speed, agility and corporate responsibility.

These innovations will also allow entirely new product offerings and experiential retail strategies. “Doing justice to all of the different athletic and degree programs has been a longstanding challenge for bookstores where retail space is at a premium,” said Killian. “We’ve developed a supply chain that allows us to support all of these programs, but does so in a way that elevates the product and gives the consumer a unique retail shopping experience.”
