Fidelity Fiber Project Adds Digital TV, Phone Service for Benton, AR Subdivisions

Fidelity Communications is now using Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology to offer new Internet packages, digital TV and phone service to three subdivisions in the Benton, AR area.

Approximately 200 homes in Sterling Oaks, The Maples and The Oaks are being serviced with Fidelity’s Fiber Digital offerings. Packages include 30 and 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) download speeds with matching upload speeds, 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) download and upload speeds, and Fidelity’s MEGAView TV with more than 170 channels of programming. MAXView and other tiers are also available.

We are excited that our Fiber TV solution is now ready to complement our 1 Gig service offering. We hope to quadruple the homes we offer these services to by the Fall of 2017.

Pricing starts at $34.99 per month for Fiber Internet service for the first 12 months. All fiber services include free in-home wireless networking. Internet and TV bundles start at $79.99 per month for the first year. Phone service with unlimited long distance, caller ID, call waiting and other features costs $19.99 per month. Fidelity doesn’t require contracts for any residential services.

“Fidelity is a company that prides itself on innovative technologies that enhance our customers’ lives.  And that’s exactly what Fiber does,” said Darrick Collier, Arkansas General Manager. “We are excited that our Fiber TV solution is now ready to complement our 1 Gig service offering.  We hope to quadruple the homes we offer these services to by the fall of 2017.”

FTTH is a fast growing method of providing vastly higher bandwidth to consumers and businesses, and enables more robust video, internet and voice services by running optical fiber all the way into the home. It replaces copper infrastructure like phone wires and coax.

Residents of Sterling Oaks were the first to get a first-hand look at FTTH last year, when Fidelity began offering speeds up to 1 Gbps with an eye toward offering Digital TV and phone service at a later date.

FTTH is an advanced solution with a user-friendly user interface. Technology is evolving every day, but fiber networks are said to be “future proof.” Ongoing improvements in fiber optic equipment are constantly increasing available bandwidth without having to change the fiber.

Collier said Fidelity also plans to serve other neighborhoods in Benton and the surrounding area with fiber, and will announce those plans as they are finalized.
