Experiential Marketing Group Creates Impact for Cause

Philanthropy is a big part of the Experiential Marketing Group culture. Currently, the team is gearing up for a fundraiser to support the Autism Society Northwestern Pennsylvania for which the team has a personal connection.

“We are always looking for opportunities to give back to our community,” explained Alice, Experiential Marketing Group’s President. “This time it’s even sweeter because Sean, one our associates, has a deep connection to this organization.”

As Alice noted, Sean’s work with the Autism Society Northwestern Pennsylvania (ASNP) is in memory of his dear friend, Steve, whom Sean describes to have been like a brother to him. “He was my roommate and coworker, and most importantly, my friend,” Sean explained. “We strengthened each other’s weaknesses, helped each other on bad days, and celebrated each other’s victories. There are not enough words or emotions to describe how much Steve impacted my life, and I know he felt the same way about me.”

While both Sean and Steve were living in North Carolina, Steve’s nephew was born with some learning disabilities that placed him on the autism spectrum. Being the devoted uncle he was, Sean described how Steve took it upon himself while living out-of-state from his family in Erie, PA, to learn about and get involved in helping other children with autism in his North Carolina community.

“His work at early development centers and a specific class of students was none other than exemplary humanitarianism at its best,” said Sean. “Upon these children's graduation from pre-school development, where he had been volunteering and working with these kids weekly for a year, he arrived at their graduation with Minion balloons in hand, one for each child in the class. We watched as parents broke into tears as they finally met the man whom their children had been talking about all year long. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed.”

Sadly, Steve is no longer around to see his impact on others, but Sean is committed to keeping Steve’s spirit and compassion for people with autism alive. “As Team Experiential Marketing Group, we’ll raise funds on July 7 for ASNP,” said Alice. “We will be there together, with our colleague Sean, helping him continue Steve’s legacy of love and care for people like his nephew.”

Experiential Marketing Group’s President on Picking the Right Causes for Team Action

ASNP is one of many organizations in the Three Rivers region to which Experiential Marketing Group has provided support. However, as Alice shared, this one was particularly close to everyone’s heart, thanks to the passion that Sean has shown.
“It’s great to do things as a team that make a difference,” she said. “However, when there’s a personal tie like with ASNP, it brings out even more compassion from our entire team. We care about each other and helping Sean honor his dear friend by supporting a cause so personal to him is an experience that will bring us closer, not just as coworkers, but as friends.”
