As the owner of six European Wax Center locations in New Jersey and Maryland, local franchisee Dean Kapneck is proud of the high level of success and growth the corporation has experienced over the course of the last year. EWC’s recent success includes the addition of more than 100 franchise locations across the country in 2016; a substantial level of growth that increases the company’s reach to more than 600 total locations nationwide  and still growing.

As one of the first EWC franchisees in the United States, Dean Kapneck often reflects back to the beginning moments of his investment, utilizing that experience to compare and contrast just how far the company has come.

"I love the longevity of our associates. We have very little turnover. Our wax specialists are true professionals and love what they do," says Kapneck

“At first it was very stressful. I remember constantly saying ‘I hope I did the right thing’…we would pass out flyers in shopping centers and put business cards on cars and waited for the phones to ring,” says Kapneck. “In our second summer season, there was no looking back. All of a sudden, the business exploded.”

As part of the rapidly-expanding body waxing/hair removal Industry, Kapneck credits his introductory experience with EWC as one of the primary drivers behind his decision to become a franchisee.

“When I was introduced to the corporate team in Aventura, Florida, I loved their energy and vision of what the business would look like in ten years,” remarks Kapneck. “Another big part of my decision was from the moment they met me, they treated me like family.”

Another selling point for Kapneck was the company’s unique business design, including a proprietary product that continues to be central to EWC’s success.

“I love the concept, and felt there was a tremendous need, with no other specific business model, to focus strictly on body waxing. The owners told me the secret was in the wax. After a fast sampling, I was a believer,” he said.

An established entrepreneur, Dean Kapneck continues to set expectations high for each of his EWC franchises; something that has resulted in 15-20% growth on an annual basis. By maintaining a low employee turnover rate, and coupling that with consistently high levels of customer satisfaction, Kapneck regularly meets and exceeds company goals, setting the stage for success and growth well into the future.

“The business has grown beyond my wildest dreams,” says Kapneck.  “I am always looking for opportunities for expansion; it’s simply a matter of finding the right locations at this point. We know the formula for success.”

As the owner of six EWC franchises, Kapneck is quick to defer praise and credit for his locations’ ongoing success to his employees, demonstrating his appreciation to those who make the continued operation and profitability of each franchise possible.

“I love the longevity of our associates. We have very little turnover. Our wax specialists are true professionals and love what they do,” says Kapneck. I am so proud of their desire to success, and I derive great satisfaction out of seeing them enhance their lifestyles.”

The key to any company’s viability, as Dean Kapneck knows, are the people one depends on to keep things running smoothly.

“Surround yourself with the best team possible. People that have your back will give you the strength to win in any business model,” says the entrepreneur. “I call my support system ‘my offensive line’…they protect me so I can execute.”
