For their 5th Annual Roof Angel Project, RoofCARE, the New Mexico leader in sustainable roofing practices, will be teaming up with roofing material manufacturer APOC to provide much needed repairs at the Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families in Santa Fe. For the past four years, RoofCARE has donated roof repairs for needy non-profit organizations throughout New Mexico and El Paso, TX. This year, the project will start on Monday, Nov. 14 and should wrap up on Wednesday (16) or Thursday (17). Extensive roof repairs will be carried out at the primary shelter location, which will remain undisclosed for privacy and safety concerns.

The main shelter facility is used to house abused families that have sought the help of Esperanza Shelter. The existing roofs and parapets walls are in need of significant corrective repairs to get them up to a maintainable condition and stop the leaks. Problematic roofs present a difficult obstacle for the shelter, who, like many non-profits, sometimes struggle to make capital repairs to their facilities. APOC has generously offered to donate the materials needed to make the repairs and RoofCARE will be carrying out the work. The scope of work will include corrective and leak repairs, along with preventative maintenance, for the 6,800 sq. ft. roof and parapet walls.

RoofCARE and APOC would like to challenge other contractors and material manufacturers to follow their lead and donate, however they can, to the Esperanza Shelter and other non-profits in need. They believe our state can be a better place if we all give back to the community and the less fortunate.
