Enjoy Great Fuel Economy With The Honda CRZ
Online, February 27, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Honda CRZ has been updated and is now available for sale in Australia. The hybrid model sports car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show and has created a new niche within the hybrid market.
While many people are familiar with the family car hybrid models offered by a number of car manufacturers, the Honda CRZ offers a sporty and stylish vehicle which is well equipped with power. The Honda range has always provided a great deal of choice to suit all consumer needs with reputable and reliable vehicles. However, the CRZ now allows those dreaming of a sports car to allow themselves to indulge their passion without compromising on fuel economy or environmental impact.
The updated CRZ features a 1.5 litre petrol engine in combination with a lithium-ion battery. This battery pack replaces the nickel metal hydride which was used in the power unit for the previous model. The updated model has also had performance upgrades to the variable valve timing systems and altered programming to the engine control unit to boost power. The updated model can now offer up to 100 KW of power with 190Nm using the manual transmission system. The CVT option model has slightly less power with 99 KW and 172 Nm.
The fuel consumption is listed as 5.3 litres per 100 kilometres for the manual transmission and 5.0 litres per 100 kilometres for the CVT model. The CVT model also features an "S+" button which is designed to deliver a burst of ten seconds boosted acceleration. This is only possible if the battery is at least fifty percent charged.
There are a number of styling changes including a subtle redesign of the front fascia, new fog lights and a redesigned diffuser. The range is also available in two new colours, Polished Metal and Northern Lights Violet.
