Dr. Leah Hollis of Patricia Berkly LLC To Present at 2013 Black Doctoral Network Conference
Online, July 15, 2013 (Newswire.com) - As a national scholar on race, ethnicity and healthy workplace issues, Dr. Leah Hollis, president of Patricia Berkly LLC will present at the 2013 Black Doctoral Network Conference in Philadelphia Pennsylvania Oct 3 through 5 2013 at the Double Tree Hotel.
The conference will feature issues dealing with academic research, tenure, publishing, managing research methodologies and intellectual entrepreneurship.
Dr. Hollis's presentation, Black on Black Crime, will examine workplace bullying within racial groups. Her work will be based on her research which was published in Bully in the Ivory Tower: How Aggression and Incivility Erode American Higher Education. Workplace bullying is an escalating issue in higher education. While many believe that Title VII regulations protect those from a protected class, when one is faced with bullying within their own group, they become the target of bullying and cannot invoked Title VII protections.
The conference is scheduled the high end of black intelligentsia with Dr. Cornel West speaking on the opening night. Dr. William Julius Wilson will provide the keynote on Friday morning, and Dr. Julianne Malveaux will provide the luncheon keynote.
