Deans Present Its Opera and Vision All Weather Awnings

British awnings manufacturing experts introduces their retractable electric awnings for all weather use.

Deans Blinds and Awnings present the new Pratic OPERA and VISION all weather Bio-Climatic awning systems. Ideally suited for the customer who wishes to use their patio or terrace in inclement weather

With 5 years and 150 successful installations behind them, Deans have become the leader in the promotion, supply and installation of these relatively new systems to the UK market.

Conventional awnings are generally rated up to Class 2 in the CE wind resistance category and this precludes their use for all but the mildest conditions the British climate can throw at them.

Deans have realised that their products were being put to uses for which they were never designed and the search was on for a solution which would enable clients in the rest and relaxation industry to extend entertainment and dining areas outside in more than just the mildest of weathers.

All weather awning systems had become very popular in Italy and other southern European countries and, after some research, the first use of this type of products was at the Pizza Express Restaurant in Woking where Deans installed a timber framed structure to extend the outside seating and dining area with retractable triple laminate PVC roof. The enormous success of this project prompted the start of a successful campaign to fill a gap in the market not then covered by conventional awning systems.

Since 2010 Deans have developed a good relationship with Pratic in Italy and expanded the range from laminated glulam wooden frame structures through aluminium systems and on to completely free standing units such as the Tecnic Reverse and the Tecnic Phoenix. All these systems shared a common retractable roof type in triple laminate PVC and have to be fully retracted in case of snow.

Last year Pratic launched the new “BIO-CLIMATIC”  Opera and Vision free standing or wall mounted awning system which incorporates a moving vane roof which gives complete protection in sun, rain wind and snow.

This system allows for vane rotation by electric motor up to 140 degrees from the horizontal so permitting complete solar control from whatever the position of the sun. Depending on size, the wind resistance of these two systems is between 7 and a massive 11 on the Beaufort scale with integrated gutters effectively taking care of water run-off.

Available in 7 standard frame colours including the popular bronze and grey anthracite shades the awning will blend with any contemporary setting but other colours are available at special request.

Numerous options are available including automatic climate control and integrated LED lighting with RGB colour lights and dimmer controls. The Opera also has provision for integrated drop down side screens which retract completely into the frame work of the structure.

It is essential the awning is fitted accurately to ensure smooth operation and alignment and Deans installation crew leaders have all been trained in the Pratic factory in Italy in order to meet the high level of competency required.
