Columbia Home Goods Shares Trends and News on Decoration and Beautification
Site gives home décor advice
Brooklyn, MI, January 20, 2016 (Newswire.com) - New site Columbia Home Goods is geared toward design fanatics who want their homes and outdoor spaces to look the best they can.
“Lots of people are looking for new ways to make their home look amazing,” owner John Chmiel said. “We want to give them access to the latest products, news and tips on home and outdoor décor.”
"We don't want to tell people what to like, choosing a style and sensibility is very personal. But we like to play our part by collecting all of the most useful and relevant information from around the web to make sure people are choosing from the best and getting access to all the newest trends and important buzz."
Even people who love design don’t necessarily have the time to keep up with everything, he said. That’s where his site comes in. Chmiel said the site will offer tips, but never rules.
One recent piece on the site offers interior design tips that most laypeople don’t know. Some of the concepts include hanging art lower on the wall and making sure dining room tables are at least three feet wide.
The piece also recommends what it calls “the Pillow Ratio.”
“Overlap two 20-inch-square bold-patterned pillows with two 16-inch pillows in a coordinating solid color, and add in a lumbar pillow with a pinstripe pattern,” the site suggested.
Another post suggests pairing of herbs that will help other plants grow.
“Just like humans or any other kind of living thing, plants do not like to be lonely,” the site said. “That is why planting them together can be extremely beneficial if done correctly.”
