Columbia Home Goods Gives Users Insight on Decorating, Gardening and More

Site offers design and décor advice

A new site, Columbia Home Goods, is offering users tips and information on interior design, decorating and gardening, along with other topics.

One recent post looks to solve a major question people have—where to start with a home redecorating project.

"We're aiming to be people's go-to site for information about how to beautify their homes inside and out. We want to give them decorating tips, information about gardening and access to the best deals on home décor available."

John Chmiel, Owner

“Answering a few questions will help you stay on track and on budget,” the site wrote. “What do you want to use the room for and who else will be enjoying this space? Once you are clear on what the room will be used for, establish a decorating scheme around a focal point. That could be a statement piece of furniture or art. Once you’ve determined the focal point, it is easier to choose a paint color, fabric and accessories that help pull the room together.”

Another post shared tips that interior decorators usually keep to themselves, including hanging art lower on the walls, centering mirrors 57 inches high to give the illusion of more space and that the ideal height for a coffee table is 18 inches, and it should be 20 inches from a sofa.

“We like to play our part by collecting all of the most useful and relevant information from around the web,” Chmiel said. “That way our users can be sure they’re choosing from the best and getting access to all the newest trends and important buzz.”
