Check Into Cash, a national leader in alternative financial services, launched its fifth annual #CheckIntoPink philanthropic campaign on October 1, 2018, to help spread knowledge and awareness of breast cancer. The campaign, which runs throughout the month of October, will lead the audience to CheckIntoCash.com/gopink, an informational page featuring tips and other educational resources.

“We’re proud to launch our fifth Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign,” said Check Into Cash President Steve Scoggins. “We’re going pink, yes, but we’re doing more. By sharing information on preventative measures, we can help ourselves, and our communities stay aware of preventative measures and risk factors. We’re learning more and making progress every day. It’s a fight we will win.”

A few facts to keep in mind:

·      A woman has about a one in eight chance in her lifetime of being diagnosed with breast cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute

·      Most women (about eight out of 10) who get breast cancer do not have a family history of the disease

·      The leading risk factor for breast cancer is simply being a woman. Though breast cancer does occur in men, the disease is 100 times more common in women

·      On average, every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer and one woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes

The focal point of the #CheckIntoPink campaign is the Go Pink informational webpage filled with helpful links and resources about getting involved and learning more about breast cancer prevention. The campaign leverages the strengths and immediacies of social media, texting (SMS), and email to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month and recommend to others to show their support by supporting the search for the cure.

“We encourage businesses and individuals to help us support Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Scoggins. “The more we educate ourselves and others, the closer we get to a cure.”
