'Chained', Short Film About PTSD Wins Art With Impact's September Film Competition on Mental Health

San Francisco-based organization Art With Impact announces it's latest mental health short film competition winner.

Art With Impact (AWI) is excited to congratulate Dustin Lowman for his film 'Chained', which recently became the 28th winning film in AWI's OLIVE Film Collection. The film shows one man's daily struggle with PTSD as it takes him to his breaking point, where only then does he realize help has been there all along.

Dustin Lowman is an award winning film maker with a passion for reaching his audience through intellectual and emotional means. Dustin was stung by the film bug at a very early age and continued to experiment using any camera he could get his hands on while also taking television production classes and learning graphic design.  Dustin is the founder of Docs for Heroes, an organization that is dedicated to creating documentary films for military heroes and their families free of charge, and used to increase public awareness. Dustin lives in Columbus, Indiana.

PTSD is a very close subject to my heart and you guys (AWI) are going to be spreading this awareness around the country and I could not ask for anything better.

Art With Impact’s monthly film competition awards one winning filmmaker a $1,000 cash prize for a film — up to five minutes in length and of any genre — that uses mental health as the point of interest. Film topics may either be interpretive of mental health, or address it directly. Winning films are added to AWI’s diverse OLIVE film collection, which is used in educational outreach programs.
