Powerful Short Film About Suicide Wins Art With Impact's Sept. 2017 Mental Health Short Film Competition
Animated documentary of filmmaker's own life is the 39th addition to Art With Impact's groundbreaking short film collection.
SAN FRANCISCO, September 1, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Art With Impact (AWI) is excited to congratulate Nick LeDonne for the film 'Hanging' which is the Sept. 2017 winner, and 39th addition to AWI's OLIVE Film Collection. The short film is an animated documentary following a young man through his journey of depression. His thoughts and feelings are personified in a luring dark fog and a loving mother desperately trying to save her son.
Nick grew up with a passion for the arts that quickly spilled into animation. "Hanging" has screened internationally in 28 countries, now involved with international suicide prevention organizations to open meaningful dialogue. Nick is currently an instructor at both Rutgers University-Camden and the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, while also working on independent films. "Hanging" is a documentary of Nick's own experience, and he was inspired to create the film to help others. The film is all hand drawn and took 6,000 pictures to create the film.
