BS7666 Training Courses Announced By Aligned Assets

Training courses in 'An Introduction to BS7666' and 'BS7666 for Developers' to be run by gazetteer specialists Aligned Assets

Gazetteer specialists Aligned Assets can today announce two brand new BS7666 training courses.

During the month of November 2010, one day courses in 'An Introduction to BS7666' and 'BS7666 for Developers' will be run from their offices in Surrey.

An Introduction to BS7666 is designed for those unfamiliar with BS7666 but who will be affected by its implications. Those attending will gain an insight into all the important BS7666 legislation that is underpinning change within Local Authorities, the Police and the Fire & Rescue Service. It is ideal for anyone in the public or private sector who creates, manages or uses address-based information.

BS7666 for Developers will provide the attendee with the necessary information to decipher the various complex rules and to utilise address information in their systems. It will cover aspects such as XML and web services, how to construct postal addresses and working with DTF files.

Andy Hird, Head of Professional Services at Aligned Assets, explained the concept behind the courses. "BS7666 is the definitive standard by which organisations across Great Britain create, manage and maintain spatial datasets for geographical referencing. These datasets are primary sources of address data, so it has never been more important for people within those organisations to fully understand them."

He concluded by saying, "Anyone who works with addresses will benefit from our BS7666 training courses."
