Brain Contents: New Lottery App Boosts Odds of Winning Jackpot
SAN FRANCISCO, September 15, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Anticipation is rising among lottery players as the Powerball jackpot continues to grow. The current prize sits at a whopping $147 million. More players than ever are lining up to try their hand at winning. So, here’s the multi-million dollar question: Can one gain an edge over 16 million players of the same game? A new lottery app called Lottopia says its winning system is the answer.
So, what’s the catch? Any time someone plays the lottery, their odds of hitting the jackpot are roughly 1 in 292,201,338. Many players are disheartened by the sheer odds stacked against them. Enter Mr. Jaemin Kim, a spokesperson for Brain Contents Inc., the developers of Lottopia. He claims the keys to enjoying the lottery are having a positive mindset, playing smart and persistence.
You'd be surprised. A lot of people are out there banking on birthdays and anniversaries. I just want to tell them it's a horrible strategy.

“You want to keep a healthy mindset when playing the lottery. A lot of people obsess over the numbers. Just play smart, responsibly and try to have fun with it,” he said. But who wouldn’t choose winning numbers if they were readily available?
“You’d be surprised. A lot of people are out there banking on birthdays and anniversaries. I just want to tell them it’s a horrible strategy. Why? Because dates only have numbers up to 31. White balls go up to 69. You might be able to get something higher from the year of a date. The fact is that you’re handicapping your own odds by cutting out the other 38 numbers.”
Ironically, Lottopia does limit numbers, but it’s doing so in a “smart” way. The app does this by analyzing an updated jackpot database of every historical Powerball draw. Its algorithm then narrows down combinations based on what patterns are hot or cold. It’s worked to great effect, too. Since record keeping began last year, Lottopia purports players can cut down the odds against them by around 265 percent. That means they have a 1 in 111 million chance (as opposed to 292 million) by simply using their smart combos.
To date, Lottopia has predicted the combinations for seven jackpots, 113 second place prizes and 1,415 third place prizes for Powerball. The app also provides utilitarian functions to ease ticket management and help players check results. When asked about Lottopia’s performance, Mr. Kim quipped, “Isn't it better to rely on statistics and history than Lady Luck?”
The app is currently available for iOS and Android.
