BodyLogicMD is Focus of Florida Trend's December Cover Story

The anti aging industry should reach $292 billion by 2015. BodyLogicMD has opened 13 new practices this year alone.

Boca Raton, Fla. - Florida has emerged as the number one state nationwide in the $60 billion U.S. anti aging industry, according to the December issue of Florida Trend Magazine. The cover story, "Anti-Aging Medicine: Forever Young" highlights BodyLogicMD, the nation's largest and fastest growing network of highly trained hormone therapy physicians, as an organization in the vanguard of the rapidly growing U.S. anti aging industry, whose epicenter is South Florida.

Dr. Jennifer Landa, BodyLogicMD's Medical Director and the owner of the Orlando, Florida BodyLogicMD practice, is on the issue's cover and featured prominently in the article.

BodyLogicMD experienced physicians undergo hundreds of hours of additional training in bioidentical hormones and dedicate their privately owned practices to treat both men and women suffering symptoms of hormone imbalance due to menopause, andropause, thyroid issues and adrenal fatigue.

"2009 has been a year of unprecedented growth for BodyLogicMD," said Patrick Savage, founder and president of BodyLogicMD, Inc., who is also profiled in the Florida Trend article. "We're adding an average of 1,000 new patients each month and are opening new offices and adding doctors to existing locations as quickly as possible to meet the tremendous demand. It's very exciting to be a part of the explosive growth in this area of anti aging medicine." Currently BodyLogicMD has 36 physician owned centers throughout the U.S. with 6 practices in Florida located in Palm Beach, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Tampa and Orlando.

The growth for the anti aging business in Florida has only just begun, and the state is in many respects the global leader in the industry. Of the 58,896 doctors in Florida, more than 9,852 have incorporated anti-aging medicine into their practice. California is the second state with 9,113 anti-aging doctors. South Florida is the headquarters for several key players in the industry. The American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine (A4M) in Boca Raton is a global association of 20,000+ doctors focused on preventive health care, anti-aging and regenerative medicine. The University of South Florida's College of Medicine in Tampa is home to North America's only program designed for anti aging physicians - a master's in medical sciences with a concentration in metabolic and nutritional medicine.

According to a report released in January of 2009 and conducted by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., the global anti aging industry is on track to grow to $115 billion next year, and expected to reach $292 billion by 2015.

Savage attributes the intense demand for BodyLogicMD's doctors to Americans' increasing willingness to seek out physicians who focus on addressing the root causes of their medical conditions to help them regain optimal health through a customized regimen of diet, nutritional supplements, and hormone therapy. BodyLogicMD physicians take detailed medical histories of each patient during the initial hour-long consultation, and review the results of comprehensive lab tests and learn as much about the patient's medical and lifestyle profile to determine the best course of treatment.

BodyLogicMD opened its first office in 2004 and followed with four more locations in 2005. Expansion continued at a steady pace from 2006 to 2008. Since November 2008, the number of physicians in BodyLogicMD's network had grown from 21 to 36 - with at least four more physicians scheduled to come on board by the end of the year. In the past year, BodyLogicMD has opened 13 new specialty practices around the country, currently spanning coverage in 36 cities and 18 states.

As the article points out, the anti aging field is also attractive to physicians who are fed up with heavy caseloads and dealing with insurance companies. BodyLogicMD follows a fee-for-service model, which offers the physicians several benefits including lower office expenses, lower malpractice insurance rates, patients pay up front and most importantly, more time spent with the patient. BodyLogicMD doctors spend an hour with a patient while the average physician under the restraints of an insurance company spends about eight minutes with a patient.
