Blue Valley Lutheran Homes Completes Spa Remodel

Online, August 10, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Blue Valley Lutheran Homes completed its year-long project of remodeling the spa and shower rooms at Blue Valley Nursing Home. The funds for the project were raised by the Foundation for Blue Valley Lutheran Homes Annual Golf Tournament, raffle and silent auction last year.

The shower rooms had not been changed since 1971, when the Nursing Home was constructed. The remodel created a more relaxing atmosphere and allows staff to better serve the needs of Blue Valley residents. The new spas allow the residents to easily enter and exit the tub. The updated color scheme matches that of Blue Valley with light blue tile accented with dark blue. The addition of cabinets and new lighting help the rooms feel less cluttered and more inviting. One resident, when asked what she thought about the updates said, "The spa is just delicious!"

This year's project is to update and remodel of the nurse's station at Blue Valley Care Home. The updated nurse's station will allow for updated technology, digitized medical records, and allow the nurses giving care some privacy while updating records and speaking with doctors and resident family members.

The challenge for the Foundation for Blue Valley Lutheran Homes in 2011 is to raise $15,000 to complete the Nurse's Station Project at Blue Valley Care Home. The funds are being raised through the Annual Golf Tournament, raffle and silent auction. The Golf Tournament will be held Friday, September 9th at the Hebron Country Club in Hebron, Nebraska.
