Ayzenberg Group Releases an Earned Media Value Index for Social and Digital Media Marketing

Ayzenberg's EMV Index fulfills a need to place a monetary value on social media endorsements, actions and content.

​Ayzenberg Group released its Earned Media Value (EMV) Index via live webinar today which is now available for download on alistdaily.com.

Born of a need to report campaign value, Ayzenberg Group drew on a decade of experience in media buying, social media marketing campaigns for Fortune 1000 companies, and influencer marketing campaigns through its Influencer Orchestration Network (ION), to establish baseline values for social media endorsements and actions across top networks like Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter.

As the reliance on content and influencer marketing increases, marketers need more reliable metrics to report on earned media. Ayzenberg Director of Analytics, Robin Boytos, explains, “We report on these factors for clients like Microsoft, Amazon, Marriott and Mattel regularly so we need accurate numbers. Values are set by working with the social platforms and tracking industry reporting.

“We could see that there was a need in the marketplace for baseline values that we were already creating so we decided to make our Index available to the industry to help others evaluate their social, content and influencer marketing campaign ROI.”

During the live announcement of the Ayzenberg Earned Media Value Index (AEMVI), Robin Boytos was joined by colleagues Vincent Juarez, Principal at Ayzenberg Group  and Francesca Forgach, Director of Group Accounts at ION (the Influencer Orchestration Network. The session included a discussion of the methodology behind the newly introduced rates and how they can be used to develop a smarter marketing mix for campaigns that incorporate social and digital media. They also provided proof of concept in the way of real-world campaigns executed against the extensive insights the Ayzenberg Group has collected.

In addition to releasing the AEMVI and its accompanying report, Ayzenberg Group has committed to regularly updating the values. Knowing the values constantly change with both the advent of new platforms as well as changing demographics on existing ones, only regular research and updating will allow for accurate assessment.
