Atlanta's Creative Circus Launches Interactive Development Program

The program focuses on teaching students all the critical scripting and programming languages in use today, along with up-and-coming applications, & then training those students to work with creative teams to help bring interactive projects to life.

The Creative Circus is proud to announce that it has launched the advertising industry's first Interactive Development Program of its kind. The program focuses on teaching students all the critical scripting and programming languages in use today, along with up-and-coming applications, and then training those students to work with creative teams to help bring real-world interactive projects to life.

The program will give students a full grasp of object-oriented programming. At program's end, students will be able to leverage streaming technologies to develop applications across multiple mediums. Students will also be able to communicate fluently and productively with a creative team. Each student's portfolio will feature real-world working samples geared toward the advertising and design industry. Students will also develop a website that is database-driven and shows advanced use of the technology, showcasing projects developed throughout the program. Finally, students will be able to properly execute code that is continuous and standards-compliant.

When asked about the future of interactive, Mike Geiger, Chief Digital Officer at Goodby, said "Interactive as a field has endless possibilities. It's very exciting work, and you really can influence a culture by building utilities. It's a very exciting form of creative."

When asked about the Creative Circus' new program, Gabe Garner, Digital Production Director at Firstborn, said "The Creative Circus is great. When I started out, there was no place you could learn this kind of stuff. It's really exciting to see because it means that these kids are going to have a one-up on a lot of people that have been 20-year veterans of the ad industry, and these kids are going to be able to show them what's what."

According to David Haan, executive director of the Circus, "The Creative Circus Interactive Development Program is agile and future-proof, in that we're constantly validating technologies as they come down the pipeline to determine if they're relevant for our students. If it's something you need to know, it will be in our curriculum."
