APOLAN Announces 2023 Board of Directors

APOLAN, the non-profit organization advocating for the education and global adoption for Optical Local Area Networks, is pleased to introduce the members of the association's 2023 Board of Directors. 

Elected to a two-year term by APOLAN members at the association's Annual Meeting of the Membership on Feb. 6, 2023, are: 

  • Alan Bertsch, president, Qypsys 
  • Brian Hardy, executive vice president, ITConnect 
  • Paul Weintraub, head of international development, Superior Essex Communications 

They join previously elected board members:

  • Gayla Arrindell, market development director, Corning 
  • Jim Connor, director - channel partnerships, Nokia 
  • John Hoover, marketing director, Tellabs 
  • Eric Wulfsberg, senior director - product line management, DZS

Gayla Arrindell was appointed as chair; John Hoover as vice chair; Alan Bertsch as treasurer; and Paul Weintraub as secretary.

"It is an honor to serve as chair of the APOLAN Board of Directors and to be part of this talented, passionate team of Optical LAN professionals," said Gayla Arrindell, newly appointed APOLAN chair. "The APOLAN Board is dedicated to continuing the association's growth, further promoting the adoption of optical LAN technology."

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, APOLAN continues to expand and evolve. Among the major initiatives taken by the APOLAN Board in recent years, the organization retained a professional association management company in 2021 and completed an association rebrand earlier this year.
