Andrew Jang of Adriaen Black is Designing Custom Interview Attire for Students at New York's YMCA

NBA and NFL Players' Go-To Suit Designer Gifts the Teens of YMCA's College and Career Access Program a VIP Clothing Experience

Adriean Black designer Andrew Jang, who is best known for dressing some of the NFL’s most prominent players, recently announced he will be designing custom interview attire for teens at New York City’s YMCA College and Career Access Program. Part of his “Made to Measure, Made to Love” program, which gifts high-end, custom-tailored clothing to underserved kids and teens, Andrew Jang hopes the new initiative will instill these students with a greater sense of confidence and self-worth, as they embark on their college and job interviews.

“The YMCA’s College Access and Career Readiness programs and my Made to Measure, Made to Love program have a very similar mission of building young students’ self-esteem, so they may go on to make a positive difference in our world. It seemed only natural that we join forces to better achieve that goal,” said Jang. “I am really excited to give these kids a true VIP experience.”

I grew up as an orphan and so, I know what it is like to always rely on secondhand clothing. I also know how special it felt to receive something new; I can only imagine how I would have felt if I had the opportunity to have something custom created just for me. Fortunately, I am in a place where I am now able to gift that experience to others. It is a truly rewarding feeling and I am so happy to do it.

This is the second major donation to come from Andrew Jang’s “Made to Measure, Made to Love” program. In 2017, the Adriaen Black designer personally invested nearly half a million dollars toward designing 370 custom coats for students of PS 154 in Bronx, New York.

“I grew up as an orphan and so, I know what it is like to always rely on secondhand clothing. I also know how special it felt to receive something new; I can only imagine how I would have felt if I had the opportunity to have something custom created just for me,” says Jang. “Fortunately, I am in a place where I am now able to gift that experience to others. It is a truly rewarding feeling and I am so happy to do it.”

Outside of Andrew Jang’s charitable initiatives, the designer is a lauded luxury designer for some of the top names in sports. His clients include Oakland Raiders’ quarterback EJ Manuel, Miami Dolphins’ Jermon Bushrod, and Kansas City Chiefs’ Eric Berry.
