The town of Sapa in the region of the same name, was relatively unheard of a few years ago. A few backpackers would brave the journey out from Hanoi, but few others. As new hotels and better facilities have arrived, so have trekkers and holiday makers in much healthier numbers.

The overnight train journey brings customers to Lao Cai railway station on the Chinese border. From here it is a ninety minute car journey to the town of Sapa. After one final night in Sapa, it is time to head back to Lao Cai and the train journey back to Hanoi. Arriving at 5 am, a car is waiting to take trippers back to their Hanoi hotel.
