Adelphi University Department of Dance Students Perform Work by Lar Lubovitch

Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) is pleased to announce that the Department of Dance students will be performing Lar Lubovitch’s well-known work, Marimba, from Wednesday, April 13 to Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Olmsted Theatre of AUPAC, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. In addition to the choreography by Lar Lubovitch, this year’s annual Spring Dance Adelphi includes new and restaged works by Adelphi University Department of Dance faculty members Frank Augustyn, Orion Duckstein and Oliver Tobin.

The Department of Dance is honored to present a piece by one of America’s most versatile, popular and highly acclaimed choreographers, Lar Lubovitch. Lar’s dances are renowned for their musicality, rhapsodic style and sophisticated formal structures. His radiant, highly technical choreography and deeply humanistic voice have been acclaimed throughout the world. Lar Lubovitch has been hailed by the New York Times as “one of the ten best choreographers in the world.”  

AUPAC is one of Long Island’s premier cultural arts venues for entertainment of all kinds. Tickets are currently on sale and are priced at $20, with discounts available to seniors, students and alumni. Information is available at the Lucia and Steven N. Regular box office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1:00-6:00 p.m. The box office is also open two hours before most scheduled performances.
