Act of Connecticut Announces All-Star Cast for Its World Premiere Adaptation of 'Working - a Musical'
RIDGEFIELD, Conn., January 9, 2019 (Newswire.com) - ACT of Connecticut (A Contemporary Theatre) is excited to announce the cast for its brand new version of Stephen Schwartz’s “WORKING.” Artistic Director Daniel C. Levine’s reimagined, multimedia adaptation of the musical has performances from February 14 through March 10, 2019.
The newly assembled all-star cast for WORKING has six actors playing 26 roles and includes: Brad Greer (“THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY”), Andre Jordan (ACT of CT’s “MAMMA MIA!”, “SHREK THE MUSICAL”), Cooper Grodin (“THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA” as The Phantom, “LES MISERABLES”), Monica Ramirez (ACT of CT’s “EVITA”), Zuri Washington (“BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL”), and Laura Woyasz (“WICKED” as Glinda).
Nominated for six TONY Awards, including Best Score, “WORKING” is based on Studs Terkel’s 1974 best-selling book of interviews with American workers from all walks of life, including a school teacher, housewife, fireman, millworker, and waitress. Collaborating closely with Broadway legend Stephen Schwartz (“WICKED”, “GODSPELL”, “PIPPIN”), Levine’s contemporary version weaves recent interviews with local workers from different professions into “WORKING’S” enduring musical score.
