ACHS Botanical Study Tour in Greece Offers Travelers a Unique Perspective on Holistic Health

American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) is offering a six-day, five-night Mediterranean wellness program on Syros, Greece from June 13-18, 2016.

This one-of-a-kind immersion program offers travelers a glimpse into global approaches to holistic health through in-depth study of indigenous botanical culture and hands-on investigation of local approaches to aromatherapy, herbal medicine, and how to cook the Mediterranean diet.

“This study abroad wellness program is ideal for adventure and knowledge seekers,” says ACHS President and Founder Dorene Petersen, who will be teaching and guiding the program in Greece.

“Program attendees will have a chance to step off the beaten path and immerse themselves in an aromatic and botanical wellness experience,” says Petersen. “We’ll spend the week discovering the essential oils and herbs of the Mediterranean, learning new tools to achieve vitality and wellness, and experiencing all that this rich culture has to offer.”

Along with extensive cultural exploration on the Greek island of Syros, the wellness program offers travelers a fresh perspective on health and wellness. The workshops and lectures—taught by Petersen, a renowned aromatherapy and herbal medicine expert—will include:

  • Discovering essential oils and herbs of the Mediterranean
  • Harvesting and wildcrafting botanicals
  • Healing through flowers: understanding the power of flower essences
