2016 NUC Sports National High School Top 25

Week 11

"Bishop Gorman and Tate Martell continue to dominate after winning their 48th game in a row in impressive fashion."

David Schuman, CEO, NUC Sports

After two weeks of no change in the NUC Sports National High School Top 25 a couple of ranked schools succumbed to the loss column. Falling out of the Top 25 is St. John Bosco (Calif.) and Clinton (Miss.).

The Braves fell 26-21 to Mater Dei (Calif.) earning their second loss of this season; thus by rule are no longer eligible for entry in the Top 25. The Arrows fell 50-32 to Warren Central (Miss.) earning their first loss of the season.

Moving into the NUC Sports Top 25 is The Woodlands (Texas) and Loyola Academy (Ill.). The Highlanders come in at #24 and the Ramblers make their entry at #25.

In a battle of South Dallas Metroplex supremacy DeSoto (Texas) knocked off Duncanville (Texas) 41-17. Eagle signal caller Shawn Robinson was 16 of 29 for 265 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball 14 times for 86 yards and two scores in the victory. For his superior performance Robinson earns the NUC Sports National High School Top 25 Player of the Week.

There are two really great matchups to keep an eye on this week. Grayson (Ga.) #13 (7-1) heads out of state to take on Hoover (Ala.) (8-1). Down in the Bayou John Curtis (La.) #16 (7-0) battles bitter rival Archbishop Rummel (La.) (6-1).

Programs like Alabama, Rutgers, Ohio State, USC, Florida State and Oregon has had a vast amount of players that were first recognized as a prospect at an NUC camp. Formerly known as the National Underclassmen Combines, The NUC has expanded into All Star Games, 7v7 camps, and showcases. Most notably the NUC All American Game that had two Heisman Trophy award winners, Marcus Mariota and Johnny Manziel. In fact, 3 of the last 4 Heisman Trophy winners were NUC Sports alumnae.

There are over 10,000 alumnae that signed with Division 1 programs since its inception in 2005. The program started in New Jersey with 1 camp and 141 athletes has grown to over 20,000 athletes per year in over 40 states. Humble beginnings in 2005 were attended by current NFL stars Joe Haden and Tyrod Taylor.

You can see the 2017 schedule at www.nucsports.com as well as find out more information by going to the website.

The camps and combines were started by founder David Schuman, who got his start in football as a high school All American and starting linebacker at the University of Connecticut.

"It was my plan to give athletes the forum to utilize their athletic ability in football to put themselves in a position to get a college degree," says Schuman.

"There is no greater thrill then receiving an email or call from an athlete telling me they are getting a scholarship or that they have an opportunity that they might not have had before. My job is to give athletes the opportunity to show what they have and then to get that information to the college coaches!"
