Ford C-MAX Projected Better MPG Than Toyota Prius V

The Ford C-MAX has earns better fuel efficiency and more horsepower than the Prius

Are you looking for a new hybrid car, but want to make sure you're getting your money's worth? You may want to look into the upcoming 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid.

Coming to Chaparral Ford later this fall, the 2013 Ford C-MAX is set to surpass its rival, the Toyota Prius v hybrid, in fuel economy. Ford claims the C-MAX will most likely get up to 47 miles per gallon in the city, compared to the Prius, which only gets 44 miles per gallon in the city. The C-MAX will also have a lower base price, so it will be friendly to your wallet at the point of purchase and at the pump.

Raj Nair, group vice president for Ford, said, "The C-MAX Hybrid builds on Ford's 20 years of hybrid innovation and fuel-efficient offerings to take on Prius v with better city fuel economy at 47 miles per gallon and at better value-a great chance for us to shake up the hybrid market. C-MAX Hybrid delivers 3 miles per gallon more than Prius v with 50 more horsepower and exclusive technologies such as our hands-free liftgate-and the $1,300-lower base price means the payback period will be the smallest in the segment."

A combination of engines power the C-Max Hybrid: the all-new 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine when using gasoline and a battery-driven electric motor without burning any gasoline.

So, keep your eyes on Chaparral Ford's showroom floor to spot the first appearance of the 2013 C-MAX this fall.
