MeraCareerGiude organized one day workshop at school in Jhajjar for classes 9th to 12th

Objective of counseling workshop is to make Student understand the importance of education. Ensure their continuity in education despite family and income problems; guide them to be more informative about various career sectors, government schemes. Inform them about short term courses like ITI etc. and help students to be more extroverts, in sharing their problems. Guide them about various career sectors and their eligibility along with motivating and inspiring them towards achieving their dreams. In crux it's about adding value to their life.

The Workshop started with an orientation and power point presentation which covered various educational aspects like Importance of education, need to study, choosing the right, career track and why one should continue with his studies with motivation and hard work in life it also showcased Motivational video of Rajat Sharma- Chairman and Editor-in Chief of India TV and organized Fun Activity with Students. Q&A session with students was followed after the presentation.

As it is more important to listen to each student individually one on one counseling session was lined up next where students were asked to discuss their problems related to career in making. They asked numerous question about various career streams, streams subjects to study, exam pattern eligibility etc. students were encouraged to talk individually they also discussed their family problem, like girls in that area are likely to discontinue after 10/12th because of societal restriction.

Key Issues of students which got highlighted during workshop includes several factors their knowledge and information about career sector was low, only most common career trends were what they were aware about. Our counselor has also witnessed wrong and the mismatched stream selection and misconception about streams were very common among students. As the school is situated in a remote area it's not unusual to see students belonging to low and poor income families, the dropout rate is high, girls are not given much freedom to attain higher education. Students their aspire higher and have big dreams to achieve but they lack guidance and resources for motivation .

As our counselor interacted with students individually and in groups they observed that most of the career queries are about three sectors teacher, armed forces/ police and doctor Enthusiasm level among girls was quite high as compared to boys. They were keen to continue with their studies despite family restraining them from doing so.

At the end of the workshop and counseling session students were much more aware about government schemes in the states and about various short term courses like ITI, paramedical courses and other vocational courses. They now possess detailed information about career options. Their stream selection after 10th would be more appropriate and lined up. They are now highly motivated and are ready to face challenges.

Two booklet were distributed to each students which provides information about various career option it's a self career counseling kit providing insight into various streams and career option in PCM, PCB and Commerce along with more than 500 vocational career option and courses in India.
