Modern day web development platforms are helping developers to create a wonderful user experience. A user experience fulfilling aesthetic and functional needs. The web development platforms are helping to develop different types of apps ranging from e-commerce apps to games.

With each passing day mobile shopping is getting more popular and reaching good statistics. The major concern for the developers is to prevent data leakage through apps. This is a big issue, especially with the in app purchases.

MIT has been helping web developers to build secure web applications. They have introduced Mylar, a platform for building secure web applications. The existing technique is to rely on hosting servers for storing and processing. However, any intruder who infiltrates the server can access the encrypted data. Web developers using Mylar will not face this problem, because apps and services built through Mylar will never store unencrypted data on servers. The Mylar platform keeps server data encrypted at all times, only decrypting the data in the user's browser.

This new web development platform is a result of integration with meteor, a JavaScript web development platform. Mylar uses Meteor framework to simplify code porting. This helps Mylar prototype to secure six applications by changing only 35 lines of code. More details about Mylar will be presented in the USENIX conference in April.
