Vanguard Networks Announces Performance Enhancement Kit For The VG 6800 Series

Online, April 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Vanguard Networks Applications Ware R 7.3 P30A point software release provides major improvement in performance for the VG 6800 Series of Multiservice routers.

The Performance Enhancement Kit is released in response to customer network's growth in complexity and traffic demands.
In complex configurations for Data Center or large Regional sites, where MLPPP, Voice, QoS and RTP header compression are all simultaneously enabled, the new Kit increases performance by 25% to 50% depending on configuration.

The benefit for the customer is that they can avoid or postpone capital expenditures for a new router and obtain more throughput, efficient utilization of the bandwidth, and faster response times for critical applications like VoIP, SAP and Citrix.

The Kit is offered in 3 versions. One is factory-installed for new VG 6800 orders, a second for the VG 6800 installed base with service contract and the third for customers that are running older releases. The later bundles a one time update to Release 7.3 with the Kit.

The Kit includes a CD with the new software and documentation, and certified hardware to be installed in the VG6800 series routers.

To avoid damaging the product, the installation can only be performed by Vanguard Networks certified engineers or by an authorized Service Center. An on-site installation service is offered in North America, while Authorized Partners and Service Centers can perform the installation in international markets.

The kit is priced starting at $585 and Vanguard Networks will start accepting orders on April 1st 2011.
