Project Homeless Connect 2010

The Mental Health Association of Morris County sets to host Project Homeless Connect; a one-day, one-stop event that aims to provide an array of services and resources to those experiencing homelessness in our community.

On Thursday, December 9, 2010, staff and volunteers representing non-profit organizations, business groups and community agencies will join the Mental Health Association of Morris County (MHAMC), Morris County's Department of Human Services, and the CEAS Committee members at St. Peters Church in Morristown, New Jersey to provide an array of resources and support to those experiencing homelessness in our community.

Lisa Falcone, MHAMC Director of Homeless Outreach Services explains, "The purpose of Project Homeless Connect is to help the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in locating the services and supports they require to obtain and maintain housing. Some of the services provided include food, clothing, housing information, medical and dental services, financial benefits, mental health and substance abuse services, along with hair cuts, massages, and gift items."

The goal of this one-day, one location event that begins at 9 AM, is to link as many people as possible, who are struggling to maintain housing or who are homeless, with services that will help them find or keep their home.

Donations of socks, underwear, umbrellas, personal hygiene products, gloves and hats are currently being accepted at the Mental Health Association offices at 100 Route 46 East, Bldg C, in Mountain Lakes, NJ. For additional information or to volunteer, please contact Lisa Falcone at 973-334-3496, ext. 105 or LFalcone@mhamorris.org.
