Mamanoes Grocery Shop, located in downtown loft district, is hosting a special night of Sushi, Saki, and Shapiro beer on Valentine's Day 2013 at 7:30pm. The event will also allow the public to experience several upgrades to the store's floor space.

"We want to provide a fun and educational experience that couples will truly enjoy," said Mamanoes owner Antonio Boyd, "What better way to combine couples, the holiday, and a unique eating experience than partnering with Birmingham Sushi Classes."

Birmingham Sushi Classes teaches sushi basics ranging from proper rice making to creating your own eel sauce. The company, owned by Kelly Viall and Bonnie Fitch, has held over 2,300 classes since May 2012. The class will feature samplings of miso soup, california rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and veggie rolls. Mamanoes Grocery Shop will also have Saki and Shapiro beer available along with its current selection of wine and high gravity beer.

"It is our hope that everyone who attends will have a fun-filled evening while learning to make sushi," said Mamanoes owner Antonio Boyd. "We've had a lot of interest from the local community and hope this becomes a great tradition".

The event is currently limited to host twenty (20) seats, but may be expanded as needed. The cost to attend the event is $10 per person. Event attendees are encouraged to register for the event at the company's website, www.mamanoes.com.

Mamanoes Grocery Shop was founded in 2010. It's downtown location features neighborhood grocery items and a wide array of beer and wine options.
