Leading Author, James Reasoner, Endorses Lantin's New Novel
Online, February 13, 2011 (Newswire.com) - American author James Reasoner specializes in historical military novels, westerns, and mysteries. He also writes under the pseudonyms "Mike Jameson" and "Dana Fuller Ross." He has written more than 40 successful novels.
In his Blog, 'Rough Edges' Reasoner has fulsome praise for Lantin's new book titled 'Come Here and I'll Show You'.
As he explains in his review, the book features a tough, wise-cracking Special Forces soldier and mercenary (who now part-owns a bar in Bangkok but still does the odd, dangerous job on the side if the pay is right). Add to that a beautiful and seductive young woman who may or may not be who and what she claims to be, plus assorted gangsters, bandits, a warlord, some important missing documents and a fortune in cash that may be counterfeit, and the result is a classic, hard-boiled paperback original.
Lantin's book is written in a very distinctive, ultra-hardboiled style reminiscent of James Hadley Chase and the other British authors who wrote American-set "gangster" stories during the late Forties and Fifties. As Reasoner points out, that takes a while to get used to, but it is effective.
Reasoner concludes "I like a book with a distinctive voice, and COME HERE... I'LL SHOW YOU certainly has that".
"Come Here...and I'll Show You", is definitely a book for lovers of classic hard-boiled 'tough-guy' fiction. The plot 'has babes, boobs, bombs and bandits' and combines them in a wild chase through the exotic jungles of Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. Not for the faint-hearted!
The book was published last October and has been quick to receive high praise from reviewers. In addition to Reasoner's review, the book has received eleven very positive reviews on Amazon, six of which have given the book a 5-Star rating.
Sales of the book have so far been going well, and 'Come Here and I'll Show You' seems destined for the best-sellers lists. There are reports of a possible film deal, but details have yet to be released.
"Come Here...and I'll Show You" is available as an e-Book at www.amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
