Irvine Company Apartment Communities Wins National Web Marketing Award for Resident Mobile App
Online, April 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Irvine Company Apartment Communities (ICAC) has won the "Best Real Estate Application" in the Web Marketing Association's 9th Internet Advertising Competition for an iPhone application (app) that delivers a host of services to residents, officials announced today.
The honor underscores ICAC's goal of keeping clients connected to their homes while on the go, said Nicole Conniff, vice president of marketing for ICAC.
"Mobile is global," she says. "Our residents choose to use mobile devices for many of their daily business and lifestyle activities and we want to make those activities as easy as possible. We are thrilled that our efforts are being recognized by the Web Marketing Association, but are even more excited by the response we've received from residents. They say the technology enhances their 'on-the-go' lifestyle."
The company now offers four different ways for residents to connect with MyRental-Living.com - the website, the mobile website and its award-winning iPhone and Android apps.
The company launched the mobile-friendly version of its website last week, an Android app earlier in March and the award-winning iPhone app in June of 2010.
Using the mobile friendly site and apps allow busy residents an easier user experience to accomplish tasks such as:
• Maintenance service requests
• Up-to-date community news postings and event calendar
• Exclusive coupons from local businesses
• Classified ads
Residents can already pay rent and accomplish a number of other tasks via the website.
"It's a very exciting time in the world of technology, and an equally exciting time for us to make sure we are as accessible to our residents as possible," said Conniff. ICAC is also buildings relationships with current and future residents on Twitter (@Rental_Living).
A recent Morgan Stanley report predicts that within five years, the number of people accessing the mobile Internet is expected to overtake the PC as the most popular way to get on the Web. The number of mobile web users in the U.S. grew 22 percent from December 2009 to December 2010, to 101.9 million users, according to comScore Inc.
"Pew Research Center reports that 83% of the Gen Y segment keeps their mobile devices next to them even while they sleep," said Conniff. "With an average resident age of 33, it is imperative to our customer-service philosophy and forward-thinking mindset to use the latest technology to set us apart."
