FriendsLearn Entertainment has launched a crowd-funding and awareness Campaign on the innovative Kickstarter platform, to help fund 'Fooya with Friends', a sequel to 'Fooya'- it's successful online game, to educate about the health epidemic of obesity and nutrition-related diseases. The game, which is set in a fast-paced environment, is designed for rich entertainment but also subconsciously educates players about the dangers of a bad diet.

With over thirty percent of the world's population overweight or obese, FriendsLearn bring burgers, fries and subtle learning to fuel the fight against humanity's global health crisis. The 3D online food ï¬ght game is inspired by an innate childhood tendency to throw food. Fooya offers players food-derived weapons to combat evil forces in various scenarios. The player wins by dodging unhealthy food thrown at them by enemies. The running around by the player helps in burning calories to improve health and this in turn allows the player to burst the enemies with the most greasy, sugary, salty foods .

According to latest research studies, 60% of the world's heart disease is expected to be in India in the next decade (Deloitte Report on Healthcare in India). India is also predicted to have the largest population of diabetes patients by 2020 - projected at 80 million people (South Asian Heart Association Mountain View, CA). Today, more than a third of the world's population or roughly 2.1 Billion people are dangerously overweight or obese (World Health Organization). The root cause of this problem is the proliferation of highly processed, salty, sugary and fatty food, compounded by reduced levels of physical activity (Dr Dean Ornish University of California San Francisco).

Commenting on this, Chennai-based serial entrepreneur, Bhargav Sri Prakash, Founder and CEO of FriendsLearn said, "By creating 'Fooya with Friends', we intend to start a global food fight to combat humanity's health crisis caused by greedy junk food profiteers. Creating a high performance real-time multi-player backend to support that scale takes a lot of time, skill and resources to produce. With the Kickstarter Campaign we hope to take Fooya to the next level by providing an epic, food fight experience at the intersection of gaming and education that aims to help this incredible social problem, one person - and soon many gamers - at a time. Within 72 hours of launching the campaign on Kickstarter, we have already gained $5,600 from supporters in India and in 8 countries around the world. The Fooya movement is aimed at solving an obesity and health crisis in India."

FriendsLearn will look to its fans, supporters, social entrepreneurs and the Kickstarter community to help fund the next version of Fooya to propel their mission to address the global obesity-health crisis. The Kickstarter campaign intends to raise $50,000 to fund this next version of the game, expected later this year.
