Francis A. Gregory Neighborhood Library Achieves LEED Gold Certification

Online, May 24, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Setty & Associates in collaboration with Adjaye Associates and Wiencek + Associates has succeeded in earning environmental praise by turning DCPL's Francis A. Gregory Neighborhood Library facility into an energy efficient building.

The new Francis A. Gregory Neighborhood Library encircling an area of 26,372 SF has become an eminent example for showcasing efficiency in preserving state-of-the-art and intriguing design without down grading the high-performance features of the building. Design could achieve 23.25% on energy savings and 18.34% on cost savings highlighting Setty's contribution.

The comparison investigates, optimizes and demonstrates the annual energy performance of the building. The ASHRAE 90.1 standard base line case would make use of 1113.5 MBTU of energy from electricity and 477.4 MBTU of energy from natural gas with $39641 and $5843 as respective cost incurred.

The proposed design would make use of 950.2 MBTU of energy from electricity and 270.7 MBTU of energy from natural gas with $33828 and $3314 as respective cost incurred.
