Don't Let The Dishes to Wash Out the Secondary Pollution Dishwashing

Recently, as temperatures rise, many families fall into the habit of letting dirty dishes dry out in the sun. But after drying off in this way, is the dishcloth safe to use? The findings of a recent survey might scare you.

Researchers at the University of Arizona made history during a 30-week investigation involving 15 families and their kitchens and bathrooms. Their results indicate that the kitchen chopping board contains three times more bacteria than a toilet seat. Further, the bacteria found on a dishcloth is 100 times the amount of bacteria found on a toilet seat! In other words, using a dishcloth to wash and dry dishes may make them even dirtier than before!

Indeed, the recent domestic survey on kitchen hygiene also verified this fact. Sponsored by the China Preventive Medicine Association, Siemens Corporation and Lee Benckiser (China) Co., Ltd. jointly organized the "little rag, big problem" study. Surveying the hygiene of Chinese family kitchens, researchers found that three commonly used cleaning materials (sponges, dishcloths, and dishtowels) contain many strains of bacteria, including E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Salmonella, and 19 other kinds of opportunistic pathogens. Among them, the total number of bacteria in a single sponge may be up to approximately 500 billion.

In addition to the secondary pollution caused wash cloth, rinse well that look bowl, there may still remained cleaner. Recently, Hangzhou, Mr. Qian has witnessed an amazing scene Eight years ago, Mr. Qian's wife's mother acquired a Siemens dishwasher. Because the elderly do not understand dishwashers or agree with the related dishwasher fees that appear on water and electricity bills, Mr. Qian's mother-in-law's dishwasher remained unused. Until one day, Mr. Qian himself demonstrated in front of his elderly mother-in-law and others how to wash dishes. The elderly realized that their dishes look very clean after being washed in the kitchen sink, but the dishes washed in the dishwasher were actually much cleaner.

Siemens Home Appliances counter staff said that they often come across customers who do not believe that the dishwasher cleans better than manually washing by hand. Recently, Siemens home appliances launched an offer for small businesses and offices that involves a free trial of a dishwasher. As long as the small business or office employs approximately 50 people, companies can apply for this free trial offer. Office workers see this time with a dishwasher as blessed, because cups, spoons, tea stains, and coffee stains are all easier to clean and do not dirty one's hands during the process of disinfection.

Lu Jianguo said that from his point of view Siemens is doing experiments. When the temperature reaches 70 degrees while the dishwasher is cleaning, then sterilization can reach 99%. After this sterilization, dishes are now safe for the family to use again.

Despite many advancements in technology and convenience in recent years, our way of life has not changed. However, the external factors affecting the consumer must be re-examined. Currently, the luxury of owning the best dishwasher is only viable for those with a higher income. Once dishwashers become more affordable and acceptable, many more families will have the luxury of accessing one in their homes.
