BusinessTraining.com to Release Comprehensive, Online, 6-month Public Relations Certification Program
Online, February 13, 2010 (Newswire.com) - On Monday, February 15th, 2010, BusinessTraining.com will open registration for one of its many certification programs: the Public Relations Specialist (PRS). The PRS is a fully online self-study, comprehensive certification program. For professionals looking to enter the PR industry, already in the industry, or simply interested in learning more about public relations, the PRS is great for all knowledge levels.
With public relations blogger Ashley Wirthlin of PublicRelationsBlogger.com behind the program, participants can be sure they will learn the basics as well as the best strategies and tactics that any PR professional needs to know. For seasoned professionals already in the industry, this program can help to bring them up-to-date on new strategies, how the Internet has changed PR, and what they need to know for the future.
In order to pass the program and earn the certification, participants are required to create a strategic public relations plan from a fictional company case study. With information on the company's sales, objectives, and performance, participants will be asked to follow the guidelines from two required texts to create their own strategic PR plan. In addition to the plan creation, participants must pass a 2-hour long exam where they will be tested on the require readings' implications, keywords, tactics, and strategies.
The books to be included in the program come from well-known professionals in the marketing and PR industry, including David Meerman Scott's The New Rules of Marketing and PR and Colleen Moffitt and Jennifer Gehrt's Strategic Public Relations. Registration is limited to the first 200 participants who will test in 4 months on June 15th, 2010.
