All-Star Comedian Majah Hype Host Rising Stars Showcase at Milk River Lounge.

Timothy Marshall Enterprises and Marshall Gras Entertainment presented the Marshall/Hype, Rising Stars New Music Showcase at Milk River in Brooklyn.  As the sold out crowd begin to settle down, they were greeted by the internationally known and hilarious host, Majah Hype.

The live band set the tone for the night as the various R&B artists took the stage.  Up first from Dallas, Texas was Jaye Watts. Miss Watts is known for her published licensed material on HBO, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel.  Miss Watts warmed the crowd with her single “Shaman”, in which she dedicated to the #AllLivesMatter movement. When asked about how she felt about performing, Watts said “This is the most exciting part of my life…when I get to connect with everyone, it makes me grateful for my gift”.

Following Miss Watts was the DMV’s Maya Milan. After commanding the stage with her powerful rendition of Beyonce’s “Speechless", Miss Milan performed two original songs,  “So What’s Up” and “Fun” to set the mood for the second half of the show.  Prior to the second set of acts, audience members were given a chance to win prizes from participating sponsors such as Younique Beauty, Traci Lynn Jewelry, Hair in Brooklyn, Eloquent Essentials and more!

Returning to the Milk River stage was Toronto’s own and Canadian Idol finalist J’Maine Jones.  Opening with his version of New Edition’s “Can You Stand The Rain”, Jones continued to engage the crowd by performing a mix of original songs as well as songs by the R&B favorite, Trey Songz.

To conclude the performances, Mr. R&B aka Venor took the stage. The BET Apollo Live Winner shared similar styles to artists such as Luther Vandross and Donny Hathaway. With Venor’s captivating sound, it took the guest on a musical journey through time.  Not only did he capture the audience’s attention through voice, but his guitar skills definitely won the ladies over when performing the original Stevie Wonder hit, “All I Do”.

The night ended with an old school 90's Brooklyn house party style reggae session, lead by the band and host Majah Hype.  The crowd enjoyed the performances, raffles, and overall ambiance of the event.  With one last showcase left for the summer, Timothy Marshall Enterprises and Marshall Gras Entertainment hosted another successful presentation and will continue to serve as platform that promotes and supports good artist and their music!
