11 Year Old Entrepreneur To Be Showcased at Largest Soccer Expo 2010
Online, February 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - LONG BEACH, Calif. - Eleven-year-old Drew C. De Leon will be the youngest exhibitor at the Soccer Nation Expo 2010, Los Angeles Convention Center, Feb. 13-14. More than 30,000 soccer fans will get to see her unique headbands made from a foam tape product called Aktive Wrap, pre wrap originally invented to protect athlete's skin from sticky tape.
"This is so exciting because there will be thousands of soccer fans and players who could see the product I use when I play soccer," said Drew.
Drew created her company Aktive Wrap less than a year ago and launched an online store over the internet, http://www.aktivewrap.com.
"You should have seen the bank manager's face when Drew requested a business account. She had to learn how to make deposits, write checks, withdraw money from ATM's and, more importantly, count money!" said Sidney De Leon, Drew's father.
The 11-year-old said that her father's profession has prepared her well for her business. "I've lived in eight different places so I'm used to meeting new people. My dad is in the U.S. Air Force. That's why I'm used to new places, schools and making new friends."
Drew set up her Aktive Wrap display table and tent at numerous soccer tournaments throughout Southern California area, but she says the Soccer Nation Expo is special. "The Expo is going to be an awesome chance to meet other soccer players. I can't wait!" said Drew.
