The Perfect Proposal Toolkit Launches on Feb. 1 Just in Time for "Proposal Season," Providing Guidance on How to Flawlessly Pop the Big Question

The online resource provides cheeky tips and recommendations for planning a memorable marriage proposal; Toolkit visitors can enter to win a $2,500 American Gem Society gift card.

Las Vegas—Planning the perfect marriage proposal is a daunting task, let alone uttering the actual words "Will you marry me?" In February, diamond and gem experts American Gem Society and American Gem Society Laboratories will launch for the second year the Perfect Proposal Toolkit.

The Perfect Proposal Toolkit is an online resource - located at www.americangemsociety.org/proposal - created to provide suggestions and inventive recommendations for both traditional and unconventional wedding proposals. The Toolkit keeps it easy by categorizing and providing tips for romantic, funny, adventurous, "2.0" and simple proposals. The site also provides expert advice on selecting the type of ring with which to propose, including what to look for when selecting the proper stones, settings, colors, sizes, etc.

To provide plenty of time to plan a small or large scale proposal, the Perfect Proposal Toolkit will be live for "proposal season" - kicking off February 1 in advance of Valentine's Day and continuing through March 20, which is recognized as National Proposal Day.

"While it is certain that we will not be able to alleviate the nerves that many will have when they actually ask the big question, the Perfect Proposal Toolkit is meant to be a great resource for providing creative and interactive proposal and ring buying ideas," said Ruth Batson, CEO of American Gem Society and American Gem Society Laboratories. "It is exciting to launch the Toolkit for a second year and I hope that visitors take advantage of the tips, as well as enter a contest to win jewelry!"

Visitors to the Perfect Proposal Toolkit can enter to win a $2,500 gift card to use at any participating American Gem Society member jewelers. The Toolkit offers an easy to use "Find A Jeweler" feature that provides contact information on all 1,700 American Gem Society certified jewelers throughout the United States.

About American Gem Society / American Gem Society Laboratories
The American Gem Society (AGS), founded in 1934 by Robert M. Shipley, is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to proven ethics, knowledge, and consumer protection within the jewelry industry. AGS is a professional organization awarding credentials for its members, who are held to the highest ethical and professional standards in the industry and must pass annual recertification examinations to maintain their titles. Less than five percent of jewelers in the country have met the exacting requirements necessary for membership. For further information, visit www.americangemsociety.org. Keep up with AGS on Twitter and Facebook.

The American Gem Society Laboratories (AGSL) was founded in 1996 and provides an expert, third-party evaluation of a diamond's quality characteristics. AGSL pioneered the Ideal Cut Grade for the Round Brilliant diamond; created the first scientifically reviewed, objective, and repeatable Cut Grade method in the industry — still the only of its kind; became the first major lab to offer diamond grading reports with a Cut Grade for fancy shapes; and provides a variety of diamond grading reports, both with and without a diamond Cut Grade, to suit the specific needs of diamond manufacturers, retail jewelers, and consumers.
