SkyRecon Announces StormShield 5.2 Unified Endpoint Security

Online, September 13, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Designed from its inception to be a single, lightweight agent with multiple protection layers working together to protect both the system and the data, the integrated StormShield services include device control, file-based content encryption, application control, host-based intrusion prevention (HIPS) and firewall, wireless security, and network access control (NAC).
Key to version 5.2 is the offering of both full-disk encryption and file-based encryption for system level protections, including transparent decryption. StormShield offers the most system and data protection layers available delivered through a single lightweight agent and single management console. The product continues to support dynamic policy management capabilities in addition to compliance auditing and reporting tools.

With StormShield's integrated secure content encryption, device control and network access control, organizations can define a single location-aware endpoint-based policy that prevents sensitive data from being removed from their endpoint systems, leaked from unauthorized network locations, and extracted through the use of unauthorized removable storage devices. The embedded encryption service within StormShield is on target for FIPS 140-2 validation.
As the policy can be dynamically changed based on network location, increased security can be automatically applied as the endpoint leaves the secure perimeter of the internal network.
