Rock For Kids, The Hoyle Brothers Hitch Up To Help Music Education

Chicago's finest country band, The Hoyle Brothers, has partnered with Rock for Kids to donate proceeds from online sales of its new holiday EP, "Home for the Holidays," through December 31, 2009, on CD Baby.

(Chicago): Rock For Kids and The Hoyle have teamed up to promote music education among Chicago's underserved children with the release of The Hoyle Brothers' "Home For The Holidays" EP.

"We're delighted to partner with The Hoyle Brothers and raise funds for our music education program," says Maria Mowbray, Executive Director of Rock For Kids, a non-profit that provides free, year-round music education for children in need. "This partnership will help us meet our goal of expanding our music education offerings in 2010 and beyond."

Through the partnership, The Hoyle Brothers will donate 75 percent of the proceeds from online downloads of "Home For The Holidays" songs to Rock For Kids through December 31, 2009. The donation amounts to 53 cents for individual tracks (75 percent of the 70 cents the band receives. The remaining portion goes to online distributor, CD Baby, for hosting expenses). The three-song holiday EP is available for downloads at the group's CD Baby page.

"We try to do something every year to show our appreciation for the ongoing support Chicago gives The Hoyle Brothers," says Trevor McSpadden, lead singer for the band. "Rock For Kids is a perfect fit. The organization promotes music as a source of lifelong inspiration and fun, just as it's been for all of us."

The "Home For The Holidays" EP features the chestnut-worthy country shuffle, "The Only Thing I Want For Christmas," the speedy, two-beat, "Winter in Chicago," and the ukulele- and dobro-tinged, "Christmas in Hawaii."
