Robert McIlvaine to Address ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma 2013

Registration is open for ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma 2013 that will be June 11-12 in the greater Chicago area at the Embassy Suites in Lombard. The conference will feature a sessions on microbial control, and control of pharmaceutical water systems.

Robert McIlvaine will deliver the Day 2 opening address at ULTRAPURE WATER (UPW) Pharma on "Trends and Developments in Pharmaceutical Water Markets". His presentation on Wednesday, June 12, will examine the current pharmaceutical water business, market leaders, and future business directions. UPW Pharma will be June 11th and 12th at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lombard, which is in greater Chicago.

Mr. McIlvaine's presentation is based on his firm's extensive market research that for many years has tracked progress in different high-purity water segments, including pharmaceuticals. Attendees will gain greater insights into the size and current makeup of the pharmaceutical water business, and learn about trends impacting the future of the business. He is the president of The McIlvaine Co., a firm he founded in 1974. The company also publishes market research on air filtration, power plant air pollution control, water treatment, energy, and cleanrooms, among other topics.

ULTRAPUE WATER Pharma will feature two sessions-one on microbial control in Purified Water systems, and a second on control in pharmaceutical water systems.

Tuesday's session will begin with a presentation entitled, "Biofilm Control in Manufacturing/Water Systems" by Mark Pasmore, Ph.D., from Baxter. That will be followed by Mukesh Yadav and Remy Olabode of Genentech, who will examine engineering controls in pharmaceutical water. Other planned speakers for Tuesday include Roderick Freeman of Beckman Coulter,. Nik Krpan of Cheme' Engineering Inc., Erika Hanley-Onken of MKS Instruments, and Antonio Hernandez-Cardoso, of the United States Pharmacopeial Convention Inc.

The overall theme for Day 2 will be "Control of Pharmaceutical Water Systems." The day will begin with Mr. McIlvaine's presentation. It will be followed by Shlomo Sackstein of Biopharmax Group. He will address the theme of "A Treatment System Based on Electrical Hardness Precipitation and UV Destruction".

Other technical paper topics to be addressed on Wednesday will include TOC reduction, calibration methods for conductivity measurements, cosmetic plant water treatment, ozone and chemical sanitization, and TOC sample capture. Other Wednesday speakers will include Randy Cooper of NeoTech Aqua Solutions, John Groetsch of METTLER-TOLEDO Process Analytics, Chris Gallager of Mar Cor, Nissan Cohen of Rohrback Cosasco Systems Inc., Terry Stange of Hach ULTRA, Roger Schmid of SWAN Analytical, and Chris Crone of Hach ULTRA.

Co-moderators of the conference will be Anthony Bevilacqua, Ph.D., of METTLER-TOLEDO Thornton, and William V. Collentro of Water Consulting Specialists, both of whom have worked for many years with the different aspects of pharmaceutical water treatment.

In addition to technical papers, the conference will also feature tabletop exhibits by leading water business suppliers and offer attendees the opportunity to network with others active in pharmaceutical water treatment.
