Revolution MMA in Benton, Bryant, AR Hosts Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion

Online, May 1, 2013 (Newswire.com) - In their commitment to offer World Class Self Defense and Martial Arts, Revolution Mixed Martial Arts recently hosted a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar with 8x World BJJ Champion Robson Moura.
The seminar hosted members from several local Martial Arts academies, many driving from as far as Texas to attend.

The first seminar was a seminar for children. During this seminar, the children learned valuable self defense skills, including how to defend against a headlock and multiple attacker scenarios. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is very valuable for bullying scenarios that children face. It teaches them confidence and how to deal with confrontation. It also covers many of the most probable scenarios children will face. In addition. Professor Jory Malone covered some simple steps children should take if they feel they are being bullied. These steps are designed to give children a plan of action that deals with the problem. As a last resort, children learn practical self defense techniques that will allow them to control a situation until help arrives.

Revolution MMA also took this opportunity to recognize many of their outstanding students. Ellie, Derek, TJ, Gabriel, Samuel, Tessa, Rylie and Ethan all advanced their ranking, showing they are committed to their training and success. The seminar concluded with a fun pizza party and the kids had an opportunity to train with new partners, get their belt signed and take pictures.

Following the kids seminar, the adults also had the opportunity to train. The adult seminar was more advanced and sport oriented. Students who train at Revolution MMA for quite some time have the opportunity to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in depth for sport. Many of the students have competed around the world with great success, and train under No Gi World Champion and ADCC Veteran Jory Malone. Professor Robson Moura also shared some of his experience with the students, that led him to his 8 World Titles in the span of over a decade.

Many students also earned rank, and the standouts at this seminar were Garrett, Nau, Nick, Roman, Carisa, Christina, Scott, Nate and Shon, who all advanced a belt. In addition Instructor Abby Malone was promoted to 1st degree black belt. Professor Abby is a lifelong Martial Artist and is head of the kids program, as well as assisting in the Adult Program.
