Res Cogitans - German Online-Platform For Philosophy And Culture Has English Release Plans

Online, September 4, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The german student of English language and literature Holger Theleus told the german web producer Mathias Assman that he wants to tranlate the german online-platform for philosophy and culture "Res Cogitans" to the english language.

Res Cogitans is an online platform for philosophy, literature and culture based on the Content Mangagment System "WordPress". It contains many Essays, Articles, Comments and a bulletin board for further discussions. It was released in Spring 2012 and offers a constantly growing community. The Topics of the forum are epistemology, empirism, rationalism, metaphysics, transcendentalism, ethics and every kind of philosophical issue. It's based on the partizipation of Mathias Assmann, Holger Theleus some german students.

Mathias Assmann and Holger Theleus met and talked about Holger's idea and came to the conclusion, that they both appreciate the plans of further internationalization of the site for philosophy. "There is a big abyss between the new and the old world relating to the subject of academic philosophy", Assmann said. He claimed to start some diplomatic actions to unite the philosophy once again. The english world prefers an empiristic, language based practical approach to philosophy. Germany and France on the other side are reviving Kant's transcendentalism. "Actually, there is not that kind of a big difference. The conclusions of the different approaches are pretty much the same, but the language is different so there are many misunderstandings in the present world of philosophy", Theleus admitted.

Mathias Assmann and Holger Theleus are going to release the engish version of "Res Cogitans" in 2013.
