Pyknic Releases Spring 2012 Collection

Food-inspired lifestyle streetwear brand release consists of graphic tees and a snapback

The food-inspired lifestyle streetwear brand, Pyknic, recently introduced their Spring 2012 collection this past Monday, which consists of eight new t-shirts, a reprint of their staple "Young & Hungry" t-shirt, and the "Creatures" snapback hat. The colorful shirts are printed on 100% cotton and features a large graphic on the front complimented with a "nutrition facts" printed tag in the neck. Pyknic t-shirts also come delivered to customers in a paper bag a la "lunch".

DeSales University '09 (Center Valley, PA) graduates, Stephen Thompson, 25, of Robbinsville, NJ and Andrew Marshall, 26, of Vestal, NY, started their business while juggling college educations and commitments to the University's men's soccer team in 2006.

The streetwear clothing line with the hippopotamus chef logo has been worn by the likes of Mac Miller's DJ Clockwork, singer/songwriter Blackbear, Mod Sun, Perrion, The Ready Set, and Roble Ali of Bravo's Chef Roble & Co. Pyknic has also been featured in "The Source" Magazine, Music Television (MTV), Vans Warped Tour, Bamboozle, and the duo was named to Bloomberg Businessweek's America's Best Young Entrepreneurs 2010.

"This new line of colorful graphic tees incorporated our increasingly popular "creatures", including Humphrey (the hippo) and Neville (the pig), as well as a few parodies of popular culture." says Stephen Thompson. "We are also offering another colorway of our signature logo t-shirt," he added.

Marshall and Thompson, who go by the pseudo-names "The Chef" and "The Butcher", have created the lifestyle brand as an outlet for their culture of food, sport, friends, and music. Pyknic's premium t-shirts and hats are illustrated with food concepts in mind, retailing between $18-$20 on their website (www.pyknic.com).
